Energy poverty and gender – Facts and arguments
Women and women-led households are disproportionately affected by energy poverty – a condition that becomes aggravated when gender inequality is exacerbated by age, class and ethnic background among other factors. This can be linked to their physiological and health situation as well as their economic and social status, as all these dimensions or combination of them put women and their households at higher risk of energy poverty.
